TypeScript Support for Google Earth Engine

Solo

Approved by Microsoft’s TypeScript development lead.

Problem
Google’s Earth Engine library (satellite imagery, 36,000+ downloads a week) came without TypeScript support.
Solution
I wrote it and sent it to DefinitelyTyped, the open-source project that provides TypeScript support for JavaScript libraries. Its packages are downloaded 500+ million times a week.
Result
Approved by Ryan Cavanaugh, development lead of TypeScript at Microsoft. Published for any developer to use. I maintain it.

Satellite NDVI Monitoring Platform

Solo

Built from scratch in 2 months, as sole engineer.

Problem
The client wanted to follow crops by satellite and compare several treatments side by side, on one color scale. No product on the market did that.
Solution
I built the platform: Sentinel-2 images from Google Earth Engine, processed on AWS Lambda with SQS, stored in S3 and PostgreSQL, with a React screen.
Result
In production and in use. Each image shows every treatment on one scale, with the numbers for each one.

2024: built in Python → 2026: moved to TypeScript (Node.js)Why: Python cold starts on Lambda were slow.

WhatsApp AI Assistant for Field Assessments

Solo

Voice notes, photos and text in; a structured assessment draft out.

Problem
Field reps often have no signal, and they already used WhatsApp to keep drafts and photos. The offline app they had was unpopular.
Solution
I built an assistant on WhatsApp: the rep sends text, photos, and voice notes, and an LLM on Amazon Bedrock, with Transcribe for the audio, prepares the assessment draft and asks only for what is missing.
Result
The reps who tested it gave only positive feedback.

Social Data Platform

Team

Influencer data collected from each social network.

Problem
The company needed influencer data from several social networks.
Solution
One microservice per social network, joined in one GraphQL API with Apollo Federation. I owned the Twitter service (Node.js, PostgreSQL) and the TikTok service (Python, PostgreSQL), built their Docker images and Kubernetes pods, and helped on the other services.

AWS Serverless Migration

Solo

80% lower annual infrastructure costs.

Problem
The API ran on EC2 servers all day, every day, but usage is seasonal. The database was on MongoDB Atlas, outside AWS, and the company wanted everything inside its AWS network.
Solution
I moved 5 APIs to AWS Lambda and API Gateway, in Node.js and TypeScript, and the data to PostgreSQL on Amazon RDS (Aurora), inside the company’s VPC.
Result
Annual infrastructure costs fell 80%. The data stays inside AWS, and Dremio reads the database directly, with no helper views.

  1. Senior Software Engineer

    Digital product consultancy. Client: Corteva. Sole backend engineer and architect on the account: Node.js and TypeScript APIs, PostgreSQL, the whole AWS setup, CI/CD, and production support.

    What I built

    • Designed and built the backend of Corteva’s field-trials platform as sole backend engineer and architect: Node.js and TypeScript on AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and Aurora PostgreSQL, in a hexagonal architecture.
    • Owned the AWS setup end to end: private networking (VPC, NAT, VPC endpoints, VPN), IAM, WAF, and CloudFront.
    • Migrated 5 APIs from EC2 to AWS Lambda and API Gateway, cutting annual infrastructure costs by 80%.
    • Moved the database from MongoDB Atlas, outside AWS, to PostgreSQL on Amazon RDS (Aurora) inside the company’s VPC, so Dremio reads it directly, with no helper views.
    • Replaced Prisma with Drizzle without a code freeze, protected by contract tests on every endpoint.
    • Built CI/CD on Azure Pipelines with blocking gates (tests, SonarCloud) and production approval. Set up monitoring with CloudWatch, X-Ray, Lambda Powertools, and Sentry.
    • Built a satellite NDVI platform in 2 months as sole engineer, with Google Earth Engine, Lambda, SQS, S3, PostgreSQL, and React. First in Python (2024), moved to TypeScript in 2026.
    • Built a WhatsApp AI assistant that turns voice notes, photos, and text into field assessment drafts, with Amazon Bedrock, Transcribe, and Twilio. Moved it from Python to TypeScript after measuring slow cold starts.
    • Developed an order and delivery tracking backend with Node.js on Lambda, Prisma, Twilio, and SendGrid.

Visual-assessment reports with high-resolution images caused API timeouts. I moved report generation off the request path onto SNS/SQS queues feeding background Node.js Lambdas, which removed the timeouts.
